Speaker(s):
- Suzette Ansay, CPCS
Description:
- For almost 60 years, Federally Qualified Health Centers have been an integral part of providing the underserved patient population in communities across our country with vital primary care. These health centers are held to high standards and are overseen by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA). Credentialing and privileging programs are a large component of health center operations; MSPs working in these health centers must be able to interpret and navigate the distinctive requirements HRSA has established. This presentation will educate the MSP on HRSA’s credentialing and privileging standards, provide insight into ensuring compliance with these standards, and equip MSPs with best-practices in supporting FQHCs and their crucial role in community-based health care through credentialing and privileging.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will recognize FQHC characteristics and how they are regulated by HRSA.
- Participants will be able to identify HRSA credentialing and privileging standards and how they compare to other accrediting bodies.
- Participants will understand what is required to ensure compliance with HRSA credentialing and privileging standards.
- Participants will be able to implement best-practices in credentialing and privileging to support their FQHC.
