  • Description: Physician assistants (PAs) and nurse practitioners (NPs) are increasingly providing care in new settings and specialties, creating challenges for the credentialing committee and medical staff professionals.  This session will address emerging issues and provide detailed information on certification, regulatory compliance, and case examples.

System Privileging: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly, and the Do Over 

  • Speaker: Heidi Thompson, MBA, CPMSM, CPCS, FMSP
  • Description: System privileging is a challenge in environments with multiple facilities, locations, and demographics.  Development of privileging criteria to meet the needs of large tertiary care facilities, medium sized acute care hospitals, critical access hospitals, and outpatient clinics requires management of the change process and buy-in on multiple levels.  Join us as we catalog the journey of a hospital system navigating the challenges of system privileging.
